      Got it off ebay last week been watching for 2 years put hundreds of bids on units always would end up getting outbid as I had a max budget of 300.00. Anyway saw this one come up at 11:00 at night on Ebay, seller had the starting bid price as 299.00 but also had make an offer so I put a offer in of 200.00 and woke up in the morning they accepted it and shipped same day with shipping and tax all in I ended up at 255.00, which was happily a little under budget so I got to splurge for some new meters. :)

    Scanners are my hobby, and ⅔ of the handheld scanners i have aquired that were not working had one thing in common...... battery corrosion. Depending on the location, a tiny spot of corrosion can affect a scanner, so its important to not only remove the corrosion that is readily visable, but àlso the corrosion that is not easy to see. Sometimes when batteries leak off the corrosion will run beyond the battery compartment and into the scanner itself, so if theres a lot of corrosion involved and you've cleaned what you can see and the radio still doesnt come on, remove the screws and carefully open it up to make sure the corrosion hasnt gone beyond the battery compartment. Ive cleaned corrosion inside the case and even on the circuit board. Ive had scanners with tons of corrosion that still worked, and ive had scanners with the smallest amount of corrosion that wouldn't even turn on. Location, location, location.

So now I can try to repair this drive using Win7 repair and have the original as a back up if necessary for a smarter technician then me. LOL.

    These were made by a company in China and sold on the US under a bunch of different names - I have the Emerson version with a different signal meter. Not bad with a longwave antenna for AM and shortwave and it has a good sounding speaker. The directional antenna will somewhat help with signal strength but its not sensitive enough for radio direction finding. Air Band is OK but the static between transmissions gets annoying. Id say its good for a kitchen radio or for just playing around. A $5 longwire antenna that plugs into the antenna jack will really make a difference for AM and Shortwave DXing.

    Very helpful! Especially Source and Target drive. Picture in Manual shows the oppossite not referring to A or B just to source and Target which you cannot find written anywhere! And fair enough push power 2nd time to get fan running and cloning a 256 pretty full drive to a 1TB. Start 5.16pm, 25% at 5.17, 50% at 5.17 as well 75% at 5.18 and 100% at 5.18pm. That was fast and all lights simply stay on. Air coming out still cool. So I guess I should dare and switch it off. Well with the ON Button you can now only switch On and Off the fan, but not the unit. So let it run a bit longer and then probably pull the plug on it. Might try holding the ON button down, yep that switches the system off. LOUSY MANUAL! COOL DEVICE.

    Had a similar issue with mine. But it would start having issues until an hour or so of mowing, turns out there where plastic shavings in the tank and they where getting stuck in the 90 of the siphon tube. had to mow until it started starving for gas the pull the tube a blow out the garbage with an air gun.

  • @lisaducher6158
    @lisaducher6158 19 днів тому

    Said I would update, so here is what fixed mine.😀My solenoid was new, but I checked it, anyway. It was working fine. I had changed all the fuel lines-checked all the clamps ( put worm drive clamps on all hoses)- I didn't forget to tighten any. Started the mower in my shop, and let it run for a while. Yes, I opened all 3 garage doors, the walk thru door, and turned on the exhaust fans. After about 20 minutes, I shut it down. I noticed gas coming out of the gas tank around the seal for the 2 way valve..When I loosened the clamp, gas went everywhere. I put a catch pan under the mower, and pulled the valve. Gas poured out of the hole for about 30 seconds. When I checked the valve, it only worked gas flowing out, but not back into the tank. I took the valve in the house, and cleaned it with Dawn dish soap, as it was dirty. When I forced water through it, a piece of a leaf popped out, and the the valve worked in both directions! Put everything back together, and mowed for 10 hours-we have a tropical storm in the Gulf, and I haven't mowed my 8 acres in 3 weeks! All done, now. I did order a new valve from Ariens, just in case.

      I think it was a better value all new components and a lot faster to replace than rebuilding the old one.

    I have this same antenna. I installed it on the roof of my house. I have a hard time hearing anything on 10M. I have not been able to make a single contact on it. The SWR on 10M is flat when tuned. When monitoring 80M and 40M, I can pick up TX every once in a while, but there is a lot of noise. I am a brand new HAM, so I am sure I have something set up wrong. I am beating my head against the wall.

      10m is quite I doubt it's the antenna there just isn't anything going on the band, 40 meter is hopping though which to me 40 meter is this antennas sweet spot. Go to 7.268 LSB I have been hearing contacts all over the country...

      Hello. I am a ham operator with 8 years experience. This antenna is more like an "end fed half wave" than the typical vertical that has radials. So...mount it near ground level with the coax going away from it along the ground. The coax will act as the counterpoise. You can try to ground the mounting brackett by connecting a copper wire to a stake in the ground. If it doesn't work for you like that, then you may need to check for a loose connection inside the unun box. Good luck and 73.

    The first garden tractor we had was a Craftsman GT6000 with the Onan 18HP Twin cylinder horizontal shaft engine, 3 speed spicer transaxle with 2 ranges, and 44" mower deck....that thing mowed our 2 acre property for 21 years before the internal engine components decided to part ways with each other :(. It was replaced with a Craftsman YT4000 lawn tractor...it had the Briggs & Stratton 24HP Twin engine, and 42" mower deck....biggest pile of junk managed to get 7 years out of it before the engine threw a rod. The Cub Cadet XT1 42" with the Kohler 18HP single cylinder engine replaced the YT4000...good lawn tractor, my uncle has it now though, but it seemed to have better power than that YT4000's supposed 24HP engine...I ran the Cub Cadet 44" 3 stage snow blower a few times and it had plenty of power to run it, I had the rear weight bracket and tire chains for it. I had the mulching kit installed on my XT1, it mulched leaves extremely well, I had the Gator G5 mulching blades (not the Cub Cadet blades), plus the mulch plug and it did great, mulched the grass most of the year, except the first few cuttings in the spring when the grass was thick and heavy. It's cut quality was great, and if my uncle didn't need a mower I'd still have it LOL. If I replace my XT1, I may get a zero turn as I have a sub-compact tractor so I just need something to mow with so I don't have to install the 60" mid mount deck on my tractor all the time LOL. A fabricated deck is a good way to go....better built, easy to repair, and lasts a lot longer than those paper thin stamped decks. The fabricated decks are heavier too.

      You sound like me. I started years ago with Craftsman and have had at least five over the last 30 years. I had a real dog, the L2000, I think they called it. It had a Kohler 42" 18HP single-cylinder engine that developed a rod knock after five years. I also had a 20HP Briggs model that lasted about seven years but went through two decks and multiple spindles. Then I bought a Craftsman Pro series, which is still going strong, though I found out it was just a rebranded Cub Cadet. In fact, the steering wheel has a Cub symbol on it. The only issues it has had are with the spindles and deck, but it's one of the best mowers I've ever had. That’s why I went full-blown Cub Cadet this time. The fabricated deck was the selling point, as I have an Ariens 52" Zero Turn with a fab deck that has been through rough stuff without any deck problems. Its only issue is that it eats blade belts. I like having both. I can tell you the Zero Turns are great for flat areas, but they ride rough and are terrible on uneven terrain. I usually use the Zero Turn for my back area, which is smoother and flat, and the rider for all around the house and the uneven area in front. When you have acreage, you need dependable mowers. A broken-down mower around here for a couple of weeks means the grass gets out of control.

    Just bought one yesterday (June 13, 2024) and haven't used mine yet. I am coming from a 13 year old John Deere - 2 decks and plenty of spindle replacements. I passed on the John Deere because my neighbor has new one and always in the shop. Not what they used to be. Anyway, got the cub and in addition to the hour meter missing, I can't understand, at this price point, why they didn't add a front bumper. Anyway, new subscriber and appreciate your videos.
